Bairre of Cork

Dichn of Sabhall, and his six brothers, Laeg> haire of Dun, AUill of Magh-bile [Movilla], Duirthecht of Aendruim [Mahee IslandJ, Eoghan of Cillcleithi [Ealclief], Ros of Dundalethglas [Downpatrick], and Niall of CUl- cleithi [Kilclief], were sons of Trichem, a chief of Uladh, who w'as of the race of Fiatach Finn, the ancestor of the Dal Fiatach, a strictly XJltonian tribe, and all their churches were within his territory ; whereas Modichu was brother of St Bairre of Cork, and son of Aimergen, who was ninth in descent from Brian son of Eochaidh Muighmedhoin, the founder of a distinguished Connacian family.
