Dioscorus

In Egypt, of St. Dioscorus, lector, who by the president of that country, being diversly and most cruelly tormented, by plucking off his nails, and scorching his sides with torches, [but the tormentors being terrified by the brightness of an heavenly light, fell to the ground,] at last, burned with fiery plates, accomplished his martyrdom.
