2. onme, i.e. simuL Or Onme, i.e. the son of a king of Leinster, and he was given in hostageship to a king of Conn's Half (the northern half of Ireland), and the king gave him into Brigit's hand to secure his father's obedience to her. So one day Brigit's disciples (the nuns) said to her : " Delightful is this little hostage " (gilldn). "This shall be his name," says Brigit, "Gillan." Onme was his name at first, and he is a saint in Cell Gillain in Leinster.2
