> PanUentiasy, — The word pennorooip is an Irish form of paantornm, for the Latin p<mitmtiarium ; and the letters TTlp. R. in the copy should probably be TTl 1. R., a contnc- tion of the proper name TDael-Ruain. Colgan, in one of his notea on St Sednliasof Dublin, seems to refer to the name in question, where he says : — In poenitentiario S. Malruani fit mentio S. Sednlii filii Thesdae [Thennas ?] de Lismoria in Momonia.”— Actt SS. p. 315 6, n. 8. (R.)
