Illumina super nos vultum tuum, Domine, et miserere nobis.
O Iesu, cuius sanctissimus vultus in Passione contumeliis et sputis deformatus est, imprime imaginem tuam in cordibus nostris.
Sit vultus tuus lumen in tenebris, fortitudo in tentatione et spes in hora mortis. Amen.
Cause Thy face to shine upon us, O Lord, and have mercy on us.
O Jesus, whose most holy Face was disfigured in the Passion by insults and spittle, imprint Thy image upon our hearts.
May Thy Face be light in darkness, strength in temptation and hope at the hour of death. Amen.
Lass Dein Angesicht über uns leuchten, o Herr, und erbarme Dich unser.
O Jesus, dessen heiligstes Antlitz in der Passion durch Schmähungen und Speichel entstellt wurde, präge Dein Bild in unsere Herzen.
Dein Antlitz sei Licht in der Finsternis, Stärke in der Versuchung und Hoffnung in der Todesstunde. Amen.
