Explanation and method

A true liturgical devotion

The Little Office follows the canonical hours in honour of the Blessed Virgin. It is richer than a collection of private prayers because it adopts the psalmody and rhythm of the Church.

How a lay faithful may begin

Begin with Lauds or Compline, learn the recurring antiphons and hymns, and use a reliable traditional edition. Fidelity to one hour is preferable to an irregular attempt at all hours.
