Ave, maris stella, Dei Mater alma, atque semper Virgo, felix caeli porta.

Sumens illud Ave Gabrielis ore, funda nos in pace, mutans Hevae nomen.

Solve vincla reis, profer lumen caecis, mala nostra pelle, bona cuncta posce.

Monstra te esse Matrem, sumat per te preces, qui pro nobis natus tulit esse tuus.

Virgo singularis, inter omnes mitis, nos culpis solutos mites fac et castos.

Vitam praesta puram, iter para tutum, ut videntes Iesum semper collaetemur.

Sit laus Deo Patri, summo Christo decus, Spiritui Sancto, tribus honor unus. Amen.

Hail, star of the sea, loving Mother of God and ever Virgin, happy gate of heaven.

Receiving that Ave from Gabriel’s lips, establish us in peace, reversing the name of Eve.

Loose the chains of the guilty, bring light to the blind, drive away our evils and obtain every good.

Show thyself a Mother; through thee may He receive our prayers who, born for us, chose to be thy Son.

Peerless Virgin, meek above all, make us, freed from guilt, meek and chaste.

Grant a pure life, prepare a safe way, that seeing Jesus we may rejoice forever.

Praise be to God the Father, glory to Christ most high, and to the Holy Ghost; one honour to the Three. Amen.

Du nahmst jenes Ave aus des Engels Munde; gründe uns im Frieden, wende Evas Namen.

Löse Schuldnerketten, bringe Licht den Blinden, banne unsre Übel, alles Gute erbitte.

Zeige dich als Mutter; durch dich nehme Bitten jener an, der für uns geboren dein Sohn sein wollte.

Einzigartige Jungfrau, milde über alle, mach uns, von Schuld befreit, milde und keusch.

Schenke reines Leben, bereite sichern Weg, dass wir Jesus schauend ewig uns erfreuen.

Lob sei Gott dem Vater, Ehre Christus, dem Höchsten, und dem Heiligen Geiste; eine Ehre den Dreien. Amen.
