Latina

In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen.

Amen.

O Iesu, per Immaculatum Cor Mariae, offero Tibi preces, opera, gaudia et passiones huius diei, ad omnes intentiones Sacratissimi Cordis Tui. Amen.

English

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.

O Lord God almighty, who hast brought us to the beginning of this day: save us today by Thy power, that we may fall into no sin, but that our words, thoughts and works may be directed to the fulfilment of Thy justice. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer Thee the prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day, for all the intentions of Thy Sacred Heart. Amen.

Deutsch

Amen.

O Jesus, durch das Unbefleckte Herz Mariens opfere ich Dir die Gebete, Arbeiten, Freuden und Leiden dieses Tages auf, für alle Anliegen Deines heiligsten Herzens. Amen.

Explanation and method

A five-minute rule

Make the Sign of the Cross, adore the Most Holy Trinity, offer the day, make the acts of faith, hope and charity, invoke Our Lady and the Guardian Angel, and ask grace to avoid sin.

A fuller household rule

Add the Our Father, Hail Mary, Creed, the Angelus or Regina Caeli, a short reading from the Gospel, and the intentions of the Church and family.

From private prayer to Prime

The simplified morning rule does not replace the public prayer of the Church. Prime consecrates the beginning of work by psalmody, the profession of faith and the prayer Dirigere et sanctificare.
